It made my 23-year-old roommate STFU and stop fighting with her boyfriend. They would sit in their sleeping bag and concentrate to find Waldo, Walda, Odlaw, the wizard and that stupid dog. They would follow Waldo's adventures, learn to share and excercize their minds. Excellent gift for a hobo who lives in a tent with two other people, and who just needs some peace and quiet. Instant silence. The book is fun and is a funny work of art as well. Would recommend to anyone young and young at heart.

Always wanted this book as a child (born and raised poor and never had a shot at it) and so I bought it for myself for Christmas. My only complaint is that I finished finding Waldo in all the scenes in about fifteen minutes, and found the rest of the "can you find" to be equally easy. Should have tackled this book as a seven-year-old child rather than a 59-year-old man in a tinge of nostalgia. But nothing wrong with this book...for children. It did help get me through a rather lonesome Christmas day.

Some low resolution pages mar an otherwise amazing coloring book. I never knew I needed this in my life. Wonder if the UK version has higher quality printing. You shouldn't be able to see individual pixels!

I read some of the reviews after ordering this book...and it made me a bit nervous. Vampires? Happily, this is the same delightful book I remember, and I have loved sharing it with my grandsons. I have to admit the paperback version has a different "feel" to it. Waldo seems to fit best with a hardback book cracked open on a table, but that doesn't affect my rating. Beautiful and interesting scenes, looking at all the other characters is just as much fun as finding Waldo et. al.

I got this for my four year old because the Disney look n finds were too easy for her. While this is actually a great balance of challenging and fun for her, the content of the pictures in this book is a little disturbing for someone so little. I realize he's walking through history, but I shouldn't have to explain to someone so little why people are being burned at the stake, eaten by lions, etc, it's actually pretty graphic unfortunately

Wonderfully challenging. We have had it for about two months now and still can't locate Waldo on all the pages. I really like the challenge and it makes the book last longer. I would have been pretty disappointed in fact if we had been able to locate him on all the pages on the first day. Illustrations are beautiful and very very detailed. Each time I look at the pages, we discover new things that we missed previously. This book it great;

This is another book which is one in a series, one which is far more intricate and challenging than earlier ones, Parents with small children should start with the first WALDO books and move on to increasing levels of difficulty as the child ages. The object is to locate the real character Waldo amidst al the wanna-bees, pretend Waldos and other characters similarly dressed. The later books in the series, and this is definitely one of them, are full of jam-packed pages that parents and kids can work on together, for many years, with books of increasing difficulty. These are books which parent can use with their older children as well, and that can help keep up bonded relationships at times when they are growing closer to their peers.

They don't make them like they used to. This is a regular bound hard cover book. It will not hold up better or longer than any other hard bound book. Pictures are blurry compared to the original books.

About the Author
David E. Ambrose attended the Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS) from 1983 – 1988. After spending a year at the Grenada National College, he travelled to the United States to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages from Principia College, Elsah, Il., USA. He graduated from Principia in 1993. In 2005, he obtained a Master’s in Education – Curriculum and Instruction, from the University of Phoenix. Ambrose began his teaching career at the GBSS in 1994 where he taught Mathematics and Spanish. He resigned from the public service in 1998 to be part of the founding team to start The Meridian School of Grenada, a private all-age school. He became Head of Meridian in 2005. In 2008, he left Meridian to take up a position as a Communication Studies Lecturer at the T. A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC). He also lectured in Spanish, French and German. Ambrose lives in Grenada with his wife and two children and continues as a lecturer at TAMCC.

About the Author

Prasanta Kumar Basu retired as a professor from the University of Calcutta in 2011 and is now a UGC Basic Scientific Research Faculty Fellow at the university. Dr. Basu has published roughly 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include low-field and hot electron transport and scattering mechanisms in semiconductors and their nanostructures, semiconductor electronic and photonic devices, and optical communication. He earned a PhD in radio physics and electronics from the University of Calcutta.

Bratati Mukhopadhyay is an assistant professor in the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics at the University of Calcutta. Dr. Mukhopadhyay is a member of the IEEE and the current secretary of the IEEE Photonics Society, Calcutta Chapter. Her research interests include physics of semiconductor nanostructures, semiconductor devices and modeling, VLSI circuits, and photonics. She earned a PhD in radio physics and electronics from the University of Calcutta.

Rikmantra Basu is an assistant professor in the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Delhi. Dr. Basu is a member of the IEEE. His research interests include semiconductor devices, electronic circuits and devices, optoelectronics and optical communication, and nanophotonics. He earned a Ph.D. in nanotechnology from the University of Calcutta.

I had to use this textbook for my last 2 years of Music Theory class (Theory III and Theory IV). It's definitely a good text as it covers everything I needed to know and had great examples. But it could often be confusing! It seems as if it was written from the perspective of "I'm an expert on Music Theory, look what I know!" instead of a "I'm brand new to all this, please explain it as simply and concisely as possible." perspective. It will definitely teach you what you need to know, but it doesn't have the most clear, easy-to-understand explanations. Thankfully my teacher was great at simplifying the subject enough for our class to grasp the concepts.So overall, if you have to use this book, you won't be disappointed in what it offers, but if you need the theory presented explained in the simplest, most easy-to-understand way possible, then there are definitely other books and websites that'll help you a lot more.

God, I hope this textbook gets better. I'm on chapter six and am self-studying just for fun and it really obfuscates the topic. When the author(s) go out of their way to muddle an explanation you have to wonder what was their purpose.

I've been a proffesional musician for 35 years and discovered Kosta's "Tonal Harmony" during a 13 year period in which I taught music theory in Westborough, Massachusetts. As with all textbooks, this is a supplement to teaching and should NEVER replace the teacher and student dynamic. That said, this is the best music theory text in existence. It uses simple, clear language to explain the concepts of notating organized sound and it does so brilliantly. The fundamental core of tonal understanding can be best understood through the redundancy of four part writing and Kosta makes it very clear on the do's and don'ts. One critic felt that two part writing would be easier, but to come down to guide tone lines (the chromatic 3rds and 7ths) requires a complete knowledge of four part writing, which couldn't be better explained than here. I chose my own listening examples and never used the accompanying recordings. Knowing what to use in a text book is part of being a good teacher. Using this book, every student I had who took the AP Theory exam got a 5. At least 50% of my many students took the exam and I never taught to the test. At the halfway point Kosta introduces the dominant 7 chord which by itself can (and should) take a full semester as the pivotal understanding of Western Harmony is about secondary dominants. Studying atonalism and row tones are here too, and beautifully explained for the advanced student but the first five chapters will create very competent composers. The book opens with rhythm which can be daunting. Touching upon it and returning often will keep momentum. The best way to teach rhythm is with a pair of drumsticks and hemiola best displayed with the work of Stephen Sondheim. Composing and music theory is craft-not art and "Tonal Harmony" is the finest, comprehensive book on music theory in print.it's wonderful in class; just as great for self study. The accompaning workbook is handy but hardly necessary.

This book is roughly 40 times the cost any ebook should be, and it's covered with DRM. I'm legally blind, and this DRM means I can't use my normal screen readers on it and can't convert it to a PDF or other format that's easier for me to use. The publisher is more concerned with protecting its rights than providing a quality experience.

This book is a few editions back, but it really doesn't matter that much (it's not like music theory as changed that much in the past few years, got it cos I could also get workbook with two CDs to match that were relevant), why I bought it--to save $. Perfect for me as a private music teacher to prep more advanced theory lessons, WAY easier to deal with than what I had in grad school, the practically unreadable HARMONY by Walter Piston.

Background:I bought this book because some one suggested it to me as I was entering college (I'm a music major). This isn't the text used in my school-I got it as supplemental/a possible better source. At the moment I couldn't play piano (still not much of a piano player but I get the stuff).The Not so Good Stuff:This book is really technical & nit picky about terminology. You'll have an amazing nomenclature if you can get through this-really but I think some functional aspects are missing. In other words, the book does a great job at helping you to identify, label & categorize things but it doesn't do much for providing a way to develop a working functional understanding of the stuff, then again that's what the workbook is for. And finally, to be frank-this isn't an easy book Dx.Good Stuff:This book is meant to cover four semesters of theory. It covers A LOT of ground & as a single source for it all it's a price friendly text. Going through this book will definitely set you up for just about any kind of theoretical situation-assuming of course you work with the information & internalize it.

I paid $119 dollars for a new version of this book because the description saidit was new and also included the CD—which I why I specifically paid all that money for the new book. There is no CD, and there is also a half-torn sticker on the side that says “used.”

This text is a must-have for every music major. It's definitely my theory BIBLE, but my only beef about the workbook was that there was no way to check my answers to see if I was doing things correctly...

So good that I can't wait to read book/story 4. That's how good I like it. And I believe if you read the first story then you will enjoy the whole story like I have.

arrrgh, my only complaint is that its coming out chapter by chapter, you get so involved .. then it ends and I have to wait for the next one.. a great read though

This was much better with the body of the story giving some insight to the characters. To me even if it is a romance novel I like character developement and a well written story line

Decently written but very predictable. Not bad if you're just looking for some steamy scenes.

The Stranger 3 finally gives us some answers as to who the stranger really is. But don't get too excited: once again, it ends in a cliffhanger! I'm really hooked on the series and I can't wait to see what happens next.
